Helen Keller

hayii, have u guys heard about Helen Keller? This story is so inspiring. It is about a woman whose name was Helen Keller. That's why the titel is Helen Keller :v. She was born in 1880. Helen was healthy when she was born. She lost her sight and hearing at the age of 19 months because of a high fever. wow. Although she was "different" from the other, she grew up to be an inspiration to many people.

She couldn't play like an ordinary child cause she couldn't see and hear anything. All she could hear was just her heart voice(suara hati maksute). It was hard for her parents to understand what she wanted for. They wished that one day they could find a way to help their luvly daughter. And yess, their wishes came true.

A woman called Anne Mansfield Sullivan came to change Helen's life. Miss. Sullivan lived with the Keller family and became Helen's teacher. Maybe u guys think "what? her techer? but how? I mean Helen  couldn't hear or see then how it came?" iya, at first I thought the same thing, Miss Sullivan too. But Miss Sullivan believed Helen would take a dramatic turn.

Miss Sullivan started her first lesson with Helen by giving her a doll and spelling with her fingers the letters D-O-O-L in Helen's hand. Miss Sullivan aimed to teach her  to connect objects with words by doing this thing. Hmm, wanna to try it? hanya mereka yg mengerti. At fisrt Helen didn't get it. Miss. Sullivan didn't give up to do this. So she kept trying to teach Helen. The first word Helen knew was water. Helen could feel the cool liquid in her palm. She relized that what was being in her palm meant water. Helen learned many new words that day. From then on, Helen's education quickly progressed. She learned the alphabet and also learned how to read Braille(itu utk org yg buta).

Helen wanted Miss. Sullivan to teach her how to speak when she was ten. A woman called Sarah Fuller thaught Helen how to speak. Miss. Fulles was a blind and deaf  woman just like Helen. Helen would gently feel the movement of Miss. Fuller's tounge and lips.. Wait, lidah? hmm I can't imagine it. And Helen would copy them. This took a lot of practice and a long time for people to understand what Helen was trying to say. Finally,Helen could speak.

Helen was able to read Braille and she also knew how to speak, now she wanted to go to college. And her dream came true, again. She also wrote many articles in newspapers and magazines. Helen often wrote about blindness and deafness. Her first book was The Story Of My Life(1903). Wao,it is so amazing for a blind and deaf girl wrote a book.

Helen helped many people like her(deaf, blind or both) by raising money so that they could be educated too. Helen met many world leaders and she also received many award for being an inspiration woman. But Helen wanted people to understand that the disabled were not special, but also like everybody else. When Helen receiving an award from President Lyndon Johnson in 1964, she said "when one door of happiness closes, another opens, but often we look so long at the closed door that we do not see the one which has been open for us". ok,gue gak ngerti.

Helen passed away before her 88 birthday. From this story, I've learned that when people hate you, love them back. ehh salah quote :v. gue indak bisa buat quote2an.

"she will live on,one of the few,the immortal names not born to die. Her spirit will endure as long as man can read and stories can be told of the woman who showed the wolrd there are no boundaries to courage and faith."-Senator Lister Hill of Alabama. Ngerti?kagak.

I hope this story would inspiring you who read this. ouya, ini bukan fiktif belaka ala2 laga indosiar lhoo, ini based on true story.
